The regulator, NERC (Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission) in our case, sets the license areas of distribution, consumer tariff, codes & standards for network and works to safeguard interests of both the consumers and shareholders.

The electricity/power industry in Nigeria has undergone tremendous reforms, and the business of generation, transmission, and distribution, which were together under a single umbrella of NEPA, have hitherto been unbundled into separate arms. As a direct result of the Electric Power Sector Reform (EPSR) bill, that was signed into law on March 11, 2005, total 11 distribution companies (called DISCO) were formed. These DISCOs, including EKEDP were further privatized on 1st November 2013, thus completing the cycle of reform efforts in Nigeria that began almost a decade back.
EKEDP(Eko Electricity Distribution Company) covers the license area of the southern part of Lagos state and Agbara in Ogun state. For the ease of operations and division of work, the license area of EKEDP is segmented into 3 Circles and 10 Districts, namely:

West Circle: It has 3 Districts – Agbara, Ojo and Festac

Central Circle: It has 4 Districts – Ijora, Mushin, Orile and Apapa

East Circle: It has 3 Districts – Lekki, Ibeju and Island

Every District office has a Consumer Care Centre (CCC), where customers can visit and interact with our Customer Relationship Officers (CROs) for addressal of their requests and complaints. To enable quicker resolution of network breakdown on the low-tension (LT) network of 415 V, we have created a minimum of 3 Zonal Offices in each District.
